We can't control the environmental factors that damage our hair but what we can control is the kind of shampoo we are using. Lesser the chemicals on your scalp, healthier is your hairs. So, always go for gentle shampoos as per your hair type.

Sulfates and parabens are the chemicals used in your shampoo for lathering and preserving but they make your hairs dry and increase skin irritation which makes scalp unhealthy.

So always use sulfate and paraben-free shampoos for better scalp health

Some of the sulfate and paraben-free shampoos are:

3. Condition Properly:

Conditioner makes your hair straight and manageable. It also protects your hair from environmental damages and heat styling. So it is necessary to condition your hair properly after washing. However, most of us go wrong while conditioning. We must know that the conditioner should be applied only on the tips of the hair and not on your scalp. 4. Always rinse your hair with ACV:

ACV (Apple cider vinegar) can do wonders to your hairs who have hair issues like itchy scalp, dandruff or hair breakage. After conditioning washes your hairs thoroughly and then do a final ACV hair rinse which will maintain the Ph balance of your scalp and makes your scalp and hair healthy.

Just mix a couple of tablespoons of apple cider vinegar with 1 cup of water and rinse scalp and hair with the mixture. Do this once a week after washing your hair. This will help remove dandruff, removes itchiness from the scalp, maintains Ph balance of scalp and hair, removes any fungal and bacterial growth on the scalp and also clarifies your scalp. It also makes your hair shiny, smooth and silky and helps reduce split ends.

5. Dry your hair naturally:

We should always let our hairs dry naturally. Blow-dry makes your hair beautiful but excessive heat styling can make your hairs look damaged and lifeless. So it is necessary to limit the application of heat on hairs. Air drying or towel drying is the best way to dry your hairs. But remember not to sleep ever in wet hairs or never comb wet hairs as wet hairs are weak and more prone to breakage. Also, make sure not to rub your hairs harshly with the towel as excess friction can damage your hairs and can make your hair more prone to breakage.

Wet hair is fragile and more prone to breakage. So make sure not to comb wet hair and let it dry first. Then use a wide toothed comb to brush your hair. This kind of comb detangles your hair easily and prevents from breakage. Use a wooden comb as it helps in distributing natural oil on your scalp throughout the hair which will nourish your hair.

It is necessary to trim your hair in every 6-8 weeks to get rid of split ends. Split ends are formed when your hairs are damaged due to more heat styling, pollution, stress and so on.
